Kid Safety Bands - your child is just a call away!

Port Chester, NY - December 7, 2009 -- A couple of years ago, I was in the park with my older son, Aidan. It was a beautiful day and I was pushing my younger son Conor on the swing. Conor's shoe fell off and I stopped the swing to put his shoe back on. While I was, my older son wandered off. If you have children, you know the fear and anxiety of screaming out their name and getting no answer. I ran to every nook and cranny of the park, still no Aidan. I was just about to call the police when a stranger, who must have seen my panic, told me he had spotted a young boy at the other end of the park. I raced down to the other end and there in the bushes, was my son. I was relieved to find him safe.

This event changed me. In addition to nightmares, I had also become hypervigilant. Anytime I was out with the kids, I was always looking to make sure they were within reach. I started to think up ways to fix this and created Kid Safety Bands.

What are Kid Safety Bands? They are silicone rubber wristbands designed for children from ages 3 to 8. The Orange bands come in two sizes, Small (7in) and X-Small (6in). The front of the band will be laser-engraved with your child's initials or the phrase, "If found please call". You can also add any medical condition or allergy. The back of the band will have the parents/caregivers cell phone number(s).

Let's face it - we live in an unpredictable world. As parents, we have to be more vigilant and leery of strangers. Even then kids wander, it's their nature.
